From humble beginnings in Washington, NC, God has blessed Addie Marica Harris Rawls to achieve much and she truly believes that “to whom much is given much is required.”
As a minister of the gospel, Addie makes full proof of her ministry by going throughout the world to preach the gospel. More importantly, she has answered her five-fold ministry call to pastor and plant a local ministry in Smithfield, North Carolina called the New Generation Christian Church. New Generation is a community church seeking to meet the needs of the community. The motto of the church is “step by step we make this journey.” In September 2017, Addie answered her five-fold ministry call to work as an Apostle in the Lord’s Church. She truly believes that God has called her for an Apostolic Leadership Shift for the 21st Century Church to A.S.S.I.S.T the Body of Christ. A.S.S.I.S.T. stands for Accountability, Sustainability, Structure, Integrity, Salvation, and Teaching.
God has done many great things for Addie. She says, “to understand her glory, you must really know her story.” She has a passion for helping young people and motivating them to understand that “I can do all things through Christ.” Apostle Rawls believes in ministering to the total needs of humankind. She has indeed become passionate and radical in the call of “saving the lost at all cost.” She is married to Deacon Marvin Rawls, formerly of Williamston, NC, and they have two children (Ms. Marica and Elder Marvin Jr). The Rawls family currently resides in Clayton, NC.
Addie is a graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY. She graduated with a Master in Theological Studies. Addie has worked diligently throughout her life. She retired from the State of North Carolina on January 31, 2022 after 32 1/2 years of service. She has served five successful terms as an Elected District Court Judge in Johnston, Harnett, and Lee counties. While serving on the judicial bench, she was firm, but fair as she embraced her campaign slogan, “a judge who stands for justice does more than sit on a bench.” She truly understands that God is calling her to do more for the Kingdom.
More importantly, she believes that “whatever your hands find to do, do it mightily as unto the Lord.” “You may build cathedrals large or small; you may build skyscrapers grand and tall; you may conquer all the failures of your past; but only what you do for Christ will last.”
